Shortcutz Amsterdam and Mediamatic Foundation present the New Dutch Cinema Marathon: an all-nighter of short-films by Dutch filmmakers and music.
Film lovers will have the time of their life on August 30 at the Mediamatic Fabriek in Amsterdam, when they cozy up in their sleeping-bags for six hours of some of the best new cinema from the Netherlands.
The EYE Museum is joining Shortcutz in the screening of Dutch cinema, which include Wednesdays by Aaron Rookus, 12th of Never by Fadi Hindash, and Flirt by Gabriel Bauer.
The event starts at 23:59 with DJ Rocky Marsiano providing a modern soundtrack to the short-film Un Chien Andalou by Luis Buñel and Salvador Dalí. The idea is to understand how much our perception of a film can change when you change its soundtrack.
Three rounds of short-films will be intercut with music breaks by Miss Shortcut Gramophone Set.
Film die-harders will be invited to abandon their sleeping-bags and join a yoga session at the break of dawn, followed by a well deserved breakfast while petting the cows at the VOC-kade.

About Shortcutz Amsterdam
Shortcutz Amsterdam started in January 2013 with the aim to highlight the work of both Dutch professional and beginning filmmakers and promote their work across the country and the world through the Shortcutz network, which include cities such as Berlin, Lisbon, London, Oporto, Dublin, Barcelona and Madrid.
Through Shortcutz, filmmakers are able to expose their work to global audiences, while interacting in an intimate and informal environment with cinema lovers and other professionals of the industry. Every week, Shortcutz Amsterdam screens two Dutch short-films (which compete for the category of best film of the month), and a guest-film. The best Dutch short film of the year will tour the global Shortcutz network and its director will be given €5,000 for the production of a new film.
Sessions take place in De Kring, every Tuesday, at 20:00 (re-starting on 3 September).
