The first award winners have been decided upon: On Thursday, 5 November, 2015, the "From Cottbus to Cinema" Distribution Support Prize for a Festival Film was awarded during an event of the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus. The support prize endowed with up to 20,000 euros donated by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH, was bestowed upon HEAVENLY NOMADIC (Mirlan Abdykalykov | Kyrgyzstan 2015), which will be released in Germany by the film distribution Neue Visionen.
Moreover, the Romanian director Nicolae Constantin Tanase received the Cottbus Discovery Award for his feature film THE WORLD IS MINE, which is endowed with 4,000 euros donated by Synchro Film, Video & Audio, Vienna.
On Friday and Sunday respectively, the prize-winning films can be seen once again at the FilmFestival Cottbus.
