From 4 to 12 November, Geneva International Film Festival Tous Ecrans will dedicate its programme to sensuality, erotica, and indulgence of body and soul – a suggestive programme both iconoclastic and subversive that includes Swiss Premieres by Brillante Mendoza, Andrey Konchalovsky, Jim Jarmusch, Walter Hill, Cristian Mungiu, Wim Wenders, Albert Serra, Denis Côté, Jan Kounen, Hong Sang-soo, Philippe Grandrieux, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa. The Festival will also be an opportunity for Geneva audiences to enjoy exclusive previews by Olivier Assayas, Marco Bellocchio and Apichatpong Weerasethakul, who is also this year’s guest of honour – and an occasion to see the best 3D films in film history. Television will present equivalent virtuosity with a selection of the 22 most awaited series of the moment, including Midnight Sun, Splitting Up Together, The Night Of, acclaimed series such as Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz’s The Girlfriend Experience (produced by Steven Soderbergh) and Paolo Sorrentino’s The Young Pope, starring Jude Law, not to mention web series, short films, video clips, and interactive and transmedia films, as well as an International Competition for Virtual Reality Films presented in the VRoom in the courtyard of the Maison communale de Plainpalais (Pitoëff) – a first in Switzerland. Furthermore, five “Nuits blanches” (all-night events), from Thursday to Saturday until 4 am – free admission until 1 am – will keep the public on their toes.
