EDN - European Documentary Network is calling all filmmakers to submit their documentary projects for EDN's upcoming online pitching session focusing on 'Women in Opposition'. The unique format allows filmmakers to pitch their projects to financiers and decision makers in an online video conference. The submission deadline is 11 November 2016 at noon.
EDN Online Pitching Sessions offer filmmakers and producers an easy and innovative way to enter the market and get access to financiers. The upcoming session focusing on Women in Opposition is presented in close collaboration withIMS - International Media Support. For this particular edition of the online pitching, EDN is looking for documentary projects done by or portraying women, groups of women or female movements forming a social or political opposition. This can for instance be:
• Political oppositions fighting for democratic rights
• Groups or individuals battling suppressing political leaderships
• Social movements trying to change current dominant structures
Four to six financiers and experts with a special interest in this specific kind of documentaries will be present during the session. Access to the EDN online pitching sessions is easy and just one click away. No downloads are required as access to the pitch is provided directly via a link. The setup only requires headphones, webcam and a stable Internet connection.
The online pitching format was first introduced in 2010 and has been a stepping stone for many quality productions.
“Meeting funders and distributors face-to-face still remains essential. When considering that this is usually time consuming and requires travelling, the EDN online pitching sessions are a smart and refreshing opportunity. I pitched twice there and got introduced to funders I previously didn’t know”, says Christian Popp from YUZU Productions.
The online pitching session Women in Opposition takes place on 2 December and projects can be submitted via submit@edn.network until 11 November 2016 at noon.
