The world of music will take a prominent role at the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel (AMEC) of the Year Awards to be held in Manhattan Beach on January 25, 2018. AMEC announced today that A&R Worldwide will present the prestigious “Music Counsel of the Year” Award at their AMEC Awards ceremony at their annual black-tie event later this month.
Globally recognized as the leading music producer and management record label, A&R Worldwide is known for nurturing new exciting artists to launch in the global market place across multi-faceted social platforms in music, media and technology.
Founder & President Sat Bisla, and A&R Worldwide have been an integral part in the signing and discovery of such Platinum-selling artists as Dido, Keane, Faithless, Muse, Adele, Fatboy Slim, Sam Sparro, Sheppard, Sia, Airbourne, Coldplay, Kongos, Frank Turner, Temper Trap, Missy Higgins, multi-Platinum songwriter Bonnie McKee and many others for the American and overseas audiences.
Bisla will present the first AMEC Award to honor the accomplishments of a music attorney for their work with a leading music record label, publisher, distributor or promoter. One of the major highlights for the awards ceremony will be a live performance by Las Vegas top headliner Melody Sweets. Acclaimed chanteuse Melody Sweets has performed her original songs and signature burlesque acts around the world and her music has been featured on MTV, VH1, A&E among other major media outlets. She has also performed and collaborated with such international artists as Sting, Steven Tyler, Pink and Fergie.
Melody has graced the pages of countless magazine covers including The New York Times, and Las Vegas Magazine. Voted Las Vegas’ favorite celebrity, Melody had a successful seven-year run headlining ABSINTHE, Las Vegas’s all-time number one show in history. She also stars in the hit television show “Gossip Girl,” and is immortalized in the top-selling video game, “Grand Theft Auto 4.” Her portraits are also displayed in a number of distinguished museums across the country including the Harvard Art Museum, MA and the Smithsonian Museum of American History, Washington DC
As previously announced, AMEC will be launching its first Law & Justice Film Screening Series in January 2018. The brand-new two-day event to be held on January 24 and 25 at the ArcLight Cinemas, Beach Cities and Manhattan Beach Marriot will feature screenings of box office legal dramas, “Crime and Punishment,” starring Crispin Glover, Vanessa Redgrave, and the late Sir John Hurt; and “The Trial,” starring Matthew Modine, based on the novel by attorney Robert Whitlow.
Now in its 12th year, AMEC’s new location will be able to accommodate the extended program for its members to gather and celebrate their achievements and attend the additional activities that will include screenings, seminars and receptions. Panel discussions will focus on noteworthy legal aspects of the screen stories and behind the scenes legal process.
