START OF PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY IS SET TO COMMENCE THIS FALL FOR THE HIGHLAND FILM GROUP AND SABAN FILMS TITLE

Highland Film Group and Saban Films announced today that Cody Christian (CW’s All American, Assassination Nation, Surrogates), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend´s Wedding, The Mountain Between Us), and Jason Genao (Logan, Netflix´s The Get Down) are joining the cast of Ambush alongside Golden Globe® nominee Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight, Line of Duty). The action-thriller is written and directed by Mark Earl Burman (Dog Eat Dog), co-written by Michael McClung (American Martyr), and will be released by Saban Films in North America, with plans to be announced at a later date.

Ambush is based on the exhilarating true story of a deadly high-stakes subterranean mission into enemy controlled territory. Principal photography will commence in Colombia this Fall, amid strict compliance with Covid-19 health guidelines to ensure the cast and crew's well-being.

The nail-biting Ambush follows a group of young elite commandos, led by Captain Drummond (Aaron Eckhart), tasked with collecting highly classified information that can change the fate of the war. On the edge of the jungle, the team is attacked by the overwhelming invisible force of the enemy army. Drummond’s young team must overcome their apprehension in order to pursue the force into the complex labyrinth of Cu Chi tunnels, with enemy soldiers and traps at every turn.

“I am so excited to start production on such a stellar story with such a top-notch cast and crew on Ambush and working alongside my friends at Highland Film Group and Saban Films,” Producer Mark Burman stated.

The film is produced under the Dark Mark Productions banner and by Burman, alongside executive producers David Unger of Artist International Group, Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier of Highland Film Group, Scott Powell, Randy Burman, Wayne Willbur, Harsimranjit "Harry" Ahluwalia, and Anthony Standberry. The film is produced in association with Split Prism Media with support of Great Point Media. Highland Film Group is handling worldwide sales.

Saban Films’ Jonathan Saba and Bill Bromiley negotiated North American rights along with Highland Film Group’s Arianne Fraser on behalf of the filmmakers.
