Hybrid Edimotion 2020 Juries for the editing prizes announced, entire program revealed

On Friday, October 23, 2020, the 20th edition of Edimotion, the festival for film editing and montage art in Cologne, will start in a hybrid form with live and online events. In addition to the program, which is now fully available online on the homepage, we would like to introduce you to the juries for the editing prizes, which will be awarded on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 8 p.m. in the Filmforum NRW in the Museum Ludwig.
 
As usual, the juries are made up of well-known members of the film industry across all trades and this year they award prizes totaling 17,500 euros: the Filmstiftung NRW Schnitt Preis Spielfilm (endowed with 7,500 euros by the Film und Medienstiftung NRW), the Bild-Kunst Schnitt Preis Documentary film (endowed with 7,500 euros by the Kulturwerk Foundation of the Verwertungsgesellschaft Bild-Kunst) and The Edit Space Förderpreis Schnitt (endowed with 2,500 euros, made possible by The Edit Space and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia).

Both juries jointly decide on the award of The Edit Space Förderpreis Schnitt.
 
 
At the festival opening on October 23, 2020, Edimotion will be showing the premiere of the restored version of the documentary “Der Boxprinz”, one of the most outstanding assembly services by this year's honorary awardee Karin Schöning. Director Gerd Kroske will give the laudation, in the subsequent film talk Karin Schöning will give an insight into her career and work practice. All award winners will be announced and honored at the closing event on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 8 p.m. in the Filmforum NRW of the Museum Ludwig. Director Thomas Heise will give the laudation for the honorary award winner on the evening of the award ceremony.
 
Participation in the opening and the award ceremony is only possible by invitation. There are two possible accreditation options: The online accreditation allows from 23.10. Via edimotion.de access to all competition films, film discussions and panel events on the day after their recording in the cinema until October 30, 2020. Live accreditation entitles you to participate in all live events in Cologne, access to edimotion.de is included.
