Petition #SaveLaLatinaFilmCommission (on Change.org)
Ken Loach, while collecting the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, launched his indictment to an unbridled and unregulated world: "Not only is another world possible, but it is necessary", where we must fight for justice and equity, respect and dignity of people. And he, who taught us the lesson of cinema capable of telling, moving and stirring consciences, today, with those harsh and coherent words, spoken with a clenched fist, gives us new strength to affirm the our battle for Cinema and Culture as a pivot of civil development, the foundations of which are represented by Laws and Rules that guarantee everyone. Authors, directors, actors, technicians and cinema operators of the province of Latina gathered in a spontaneous committee to to urge the Regional Council to define funds and endowments for the Latina Film Commission and the entire local audiovisual sector, which is currently in great difficulty.
The petition is addressed not only to Zingaretti, but also to his Councilors of the province of Latina Gaia Pernarella, Angelo Tripodi, Salvatore La Penna, Giuseppe Simeone and Enrico Forte, to Minister Dario Franceschini, to the President of the Culture Commission of the European Parliament Sabine Verheyen, to the other non-regional Film Commissions, to local politicians and administrators, with a request to intervene to fill this serious gap. But it will be directed above all to Minister Franceschini, recalling the article in the National Cinema Law that says: "the Film Commission" is an indispensable means for giving any type of audiovisual production concrete, timely and precious support services. Having a local Film Commission in one's own territory means exploiting and enhancing the extraordinary wealth of the territories, from natural landscapes to historical-architectural ones "
The Spontaneous Committee for Regional Support to the Latina Film Commission, together with all those who are signing the petition, asks that we leave the logic of one-off interventions and think of a structural modality of political-administrative order for the provincial territory. May the Film Commission of the province of Latina be supported and strengthened, local expertise and heritage with the pulse of needs of the territory and its professionals. That the imbalance of the regional audiovisual contributions pending towards Rome be resolved, penalizing the provinces and its production activities. Only in this way is it possible to treasure talents and resources, guarantee overall continuity, implement long-term planning and, therefore, “create a system” between the provincial territory and the Region. The time has come to change this unacceptable state of affairs and to avoid the dramatic risk of leaving workers and users of Pontine cinema in absolute uncertainty, while elsewhere, in Italy, conditions of stability and development are created.
The road can only be to strengthen a consolidated territorial network system created by the Latina Film Commission, signed by over 1000 professionals and operators and based on the overall consideration of the cinema sector: film development and production, cultural promotion and training, dissemination of its own historical and tourist identity.
Let's help the Latina Film Commission, a non-profit foundation, created by the Province of Latina to continue providing its services free of charge, ranging from economic support to businesses to assistance for local professionals and artists, from logistical assistance to obtaining various permits. , from finding locations to facilitating access to local technical and financial resources. But above all to guarantee the quality and high-profile professional skills, and to be an excellent territorial marketing tool and a driving force for the local tourism economy.

Two meetings will be organized shortly (in Latina and Rome) with the social partners, sector experts and representatives of the Pontine audiovisual sector.
