The International Festival of Digital Arts and New Media of Greece, Athens Video Art Festival, invites the public to the opening of its new project #AddNoise in the framework of Traces of Commerce II | New creative cells of exchange in the historic Gallery of Merchants.
#AddNoise is an open meeting place between artists and audience focusing on questions related to the city center. Through workshops, lectures and screenings, participants will have the opportunity to use digital and analog tools in order to develop new ways of interpreting urban space.
The project sets out with the audiovisual performance "Somewhere in a field with noise" by Giorgos Grigorakos. A year after his official album release "Somewhere in a field", Giorgos Grigorakos transforms his tracks adding layers of noise. The hidden melodies and bass volumes are being deconstructed with analog modular synthesizers forming indistinct motifs. His music is mainly based on experimentation and the exploration of different musical forms and sounds. The analog modular synthesizers, the dissolved rates and low frequencies combined with visuals aim to create an audiovisual landscape.
