Catalina Film Festival (CFF) today announced that Jon Favreau will be honored with the Festival’s Charlie Chaplin ICON award. The Festival, spanning five days of films, parties and celebrity attendees, will be held Sept. 18-22, 2013 on the famed Catalina Island — a storied Hollywood stomping ground that has been featured in over 500 films, television programs and commercials since 1912. Favreau will received the award during a ceremony on the Island, Thursday, Sept. 19.

“Favreau has the well-rounded and accomplished career that the Festival has envisioned with this award,” said Festival founder Ron Truppa. “His body of work truly honors Chaplin’s qualities of realism, diversity and courage within his craft.”

From his breakout role in Rudy, to writing, co-producing and starring in the cult classic, Swingers, all the way to directing international box office blockbusters, Iron Man and Iron Man 2, Favreau has exceled in many disciplines of film as an actor, producer, writer and director.

“It’s a thrill to be honored for my diversity in film throughout the years.  I look forward to continue creating and acting in films that I hope the audience will enjoy,” said Favreau.

Other guests confirmed to attend the festival include Sharon Stone, Patricia Arquette, Jaime Pressley, Ian Zering, Justin Long, Tom Skerritt, Nikki Reed, Casey Wilson, June Diane Raphael, Adrian Pasdar, Paul Scheer, Thomas Dekker, Baillee Madison, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Nick Cassavetes, Billy Zane, Gina Rodriguez, Kaitlin Doubleday, Scarlett Estevez and Daveigh Chase.
